FAQ
What types of therapy do you offer?
I provide individual and couples therapy through secure telehealth sessions. My approach integrates Gottman Method Couples Therapy, relational science, and trauma-informed care. I also work with chronic illness, anxiety, emotional regulation, burnout, and identity transitions.
Do you offer Gottman Method intensives or marathon sessions?
Yes! I offer Gottman Couples Intensives, focused sessions designed to help couples make meaningful progress in a short time. These are ideal for partners wanting to address major issues, rebuild after betrayal, or strengthen connection without months of weekly therapy. (Learn more on the Couples Intensives page).
Do you work with individuals too, or just couples?
Absolutely. Many of my clients come to therapy on their own to understand patterns, recover from relationship pain, or work on emotional balance. My relationship expertise helps individuals explore how early experiences and communication styles shape current behavior.
What kinds of chronic illness do you specialize in?
I work with clients living with conditions such as dysautonomia, POTS, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, autoimmune disorders, migraines, and long COVID. I also help clients navigate the emotional and relational challenges that come with chronic illness — identity changes, medical trauma, and adjusting to a “new normal.”
Are sessions online or in person?
All sessions are currently offered via telehealth, so you can meet from anywhere within the states I’m licensed in. I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform that works on computers, tablets, or phones.
What states are you licensed in?
I provide telehealth services to clients located in West Virginia, Mississippi, Colorado, Utah and soon to come additional multi-state compact areas. (This list will be updated regularly but feel free to contact me to confirm availability in your state.)
How long are sessions and how often do we meet?
Standard sessions are 50 minutes once a week, though some clients prefer longer or biweekly sessions depending on their needs. Intensive sessions for couples can be booked as half-day or full-day blocks.
Do you take insurance?
I’m an out-of-network provider, which means clients pay directly at the time of service. I can provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Many clients find this gives them more privacy and flexibility in their treatment.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is about getting to know you, your background, goals, and what’s been feeling most difficult. For couples, we begin with a comprehensive Gottman assessment. For individuals, we’ll discuss your history, symptoms, and patterns you’d like to change. By the end of that process, you’ll have a clearer idea of what therapy will look like and what we’ll focus on together.
What is the Gottman Method?
The Gottman Method is a research-based approach to couples therapy that focuses on improving communication, deepening emotional connection, and resolving conflict constructively. It’s grounded in over 40 years of relationship research from The Gottman Institute.
How do I get started?
